Our Story

Sweet Anne Made

Hand crafted loveys + dolls

I made my first doll 10+ years ago for my niece. There were learning curves and I didn’t want to play favorites, so I made a few more for the rest of the crew. Around that time I had a school business project due and decided I would base the business on doll making. I had coworkers and some classmates that called me Chels-a-Phina so I thought ‘The Phina Project’ would be a funny name for this imaginary business.

Over the years I continued making dolls for friends/family as a joke. That joke was then invited to participate in some craft fairs and I started getting actual orders.

I quit my full time when our triplets were born and started to refocus my doll making efforts. I made a shift in the name to ‘Phina Handmade’.  My audience grew and throughout 2020 I modified my patterns to find a more consistent look and updated style.

As my style evolved and matured I felt my shop needed to reflect that growth. Since ‘Phina’ hadn’t been a relevant nickname for several years and didn’t feel like a true reflection of who I am, I made the decision to rebrand and rename my shop.

My grandma, mom, and I are all the oldest daughters and all share the middle name Anne. As a child I heard someone refer to my grandmother as Sweet Anne and ever since she has been Grandma Sweet Anne.  And so as a way to honor her and her influence on my life and who I’ve become, I renamed my shop Sweet Anne Made on my birthday in March of 2021.
